2016 Alumni Award Recipients:

  • Distinguished Alumnus Award - Jim Argue '73, President, Arkansas Methodist Foundation; elected to Arkansas legislature seven times.
  • James E. Major Service Award - Barbara Jensen, Hendrix bookstore employee for nearly 35 years.
  • Outstanding Young Alumna Award - Chelsey Bryant Krug '01, Led the Student Dust Counter for New Horizons, a Pluto flyby in 2015 which propelled her career in aerospace engineering.
  • Hendrix Humanitarian Award - Monica Beck Glover '98 and Dr. Jason Beck '95, Created a mobile imaging company and developed the proprietary software that provides an economical solution for diagnostic imaging for shut-ins, nursing homes, and rural areas.

11 a.m. until Noon

Farewell Reception – Raney Building
We will bid farewell to Mary Richardson, Instructor of Speech at Hendrix since 1979; Stephen Kerr ’76, Virginia A. McCormick Pittman Distinguished Professor of Economics and Business, who has taught at Hendrix since 1979; and to the Raney building itself that will make way for the future Dawkins Welcome Center. If you cannot join us, please send your warm wishes to Mary and Stephen in care of the Office of Alumni and Constituent Engagement and we will deliver them.

  • April Wilson '96, Currently producer/editor for Amazon digital media, Emmy-winning editor for Vancouver Winter Olympics, package editor and live editor for six Tony Awards broadcasts, writer/producer/editor for the short film Sanctuary for Families, and editor of numerous television shows.
  • Patrick Hoy '86, Host and brand ambassador for QVC UK's Quacker Factory and management consultant.
  • Mary Ann Gwinn '73, Co-host of the syndicated television show Well Read and Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter and book editor of The Seattle Times.
